Patumahoe Community Security Cameras

This initiative was developed by a committee formed after three public meetings and consultation for the security and protection of our community, child safety and wellbeing, business safety and traffic monitoring through the village, it was also felt it could act as a deterrent to potential illegal activity in and around Patumahoe.

The security camera systems prime objective and purpose is monitoring all roads into and out of Patumahoe and monitoring the village business area.

To deter criminal activity, vandalism, theft and anti-social behaviour overall crime minimisation and detection while assisting police with any enquires should a major event occur.

It is NOT intended for and will not be used for petty activities concerning individuals.

The number plate recognition cameras are linked into the police system and will only advise them if a number plate of interest is traveling through Patumahoe e.g. stolen car or car used in a crime or illegal activity. This is channelled through safer cities www.safercities.com

The police DO NOT have live access to the system.

The police need to request footage relevant to a crime being committed or for evidence.

Private individuals CANNOT request footage ad hock and will require a police event or file number. Any evidence will NOT be released to private individuals it will only be handed to police.

We trust this initiative adds value to our little bit of paradise while deterring any unwanted activity in Patumahoe.
